GLOBAL HEALTH ISSUES

Healthcare is one of the most basic needs of a human being and is faced with different challenges in different parts of the world. The severity and types of the challenges depend on the level of development of a country. Underdeveloped countries face extreme difficulties which lead to a very high occurrence of death even with health issues that if services were available would have been treated. There are several challenges of providing healthcare in these countries including limited access, inadequate or ill-equipped facilities and lack of knowledge, to name but a few. In this article, we focus on some of these challenges, strategies to use in addressing the challenges and a strategy a nurse can use to advocate for healthcare at the global level.
