Introduction
According to the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, “The absence of pain is defined as anesthesia. (All About Anesthesia, 2015) Anesthesia is a safe and effective approach to alleviate pain during practically any medical procedure.” Anesthesia is extensively and routinely used in every institution while seeking medical treatment or surgery. Anesthesia is administered by a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist or Anesthesiologist) (physician anesthetist). This common approach of pain management is well-known in modern medicine, and it is one that many individuals have used or will use if they are faced with a medical condition that needs the use of anesthetics. I’ve only had one anesthesia encounter, and given the circumstances, I don’t remember much about it.

Consent Requirements
There are five consent requirements on the Anesthesia Consent Form. The material is sufficiently disclosed in that the form goes through all that is involved, including side effects, potential difficulties, and different anesthetic procedures. The patient’s decisional capacity is defined as what the patient understands after all relevant disclosures have been given to him or her. The patient’s comprehension of the material is easily conveyed and divided into common, uncommon, and unusual side effects, as well as the associated risks. Questions for the CRNA or anesthesiologist might be asked in order to better understand the consent form, which indicates voluntariness.

Finally, the patient’s consent is clearly stated by their signature and acknowledgement of the consent form’s other conditions. This permission form, in my judgment, fits the necessary requirements for the CRGNA or the Anesthesiologist to provide anesthesia to the patient for the purpose of pain management prior to a procedure or surgery.
